  • Local automation – an automatic sequence for a device or assembly, initiated either by a trigger event or an operator, using local logic

  • Remote manual – a local action initiated remotely, either by a trigger event or an operator

  • Central automation – an automatic sequence for a device or assembly, initiated either by a trigger event or an operator, using  centralised logic
