PARTICLE-SENSOR
Application area
The Viscosity-Sensor is a service tool for determination of viscosity and temperature in hydraulic and lubricating oils while determine the kinematic viscosity directly. The sensor is a screw-in and immersion device respectively and appropriates oils with possibly contamination by thin fluid mineral oils, like diesel fuel or MGO. The contamination of HFO could by recognized by a higher viscosity, too.

Measuring principle and performance features
The Particle-Sensor is an optical particle monitor which works with a so-called light extinction principle. This means that the particles are classified within a measuring cell by a laser regarding their size and quantity. The measured values are displayed according to ISO 4406:99 and SAE AS 4059 respectively.
In application smallest pieces (dirt or metal friction) could be recognized early. If an abrasion of cuttings occurs this could be recognized at a size of 4 µm. Maintenance is possible preventive. If the wear of friction stays undetected this could cause a downtime of the installation.
The Sensor monitors and displays precisely any change of contamination in your system. It is possible to react immediately when an increase of particles comes about and countermeasures could be initiated. Early recognized damages causes often lower costs
