To get Type B approval, the design requires the integration of the gas engine interfaces, controllers, engine wiring and auxiliary systems (ventilation) in such a way that compliance with the standard is achieved.
The engines are typically gas-ignition, gas-fuel, and reciprocating engines. Alternatively the engines are dual-fuel, reciprocating engines, using diesel and gas fuel.
